About

Sarah Bornemiss, M.Ed, BCBA is the Executive Director and Owner of Creative Pieces Behavior Associates. Ms. Bornemiss began her career serving others in 2001 after graduating high school, where she worked in a preschool setting.  She worked with a few students on the Autism Spectrum in this setting.  During this experience, this is when her passion in Autism began. Ms. Bornemiss went on to attend West Virginia University and in 2005 earned a BA in Psychology.  She then moved to Pittsburgh. During this time, she worked as a direct therapist working with those affected by Autism.  She also attended University of Pittsburgh to further her education. Ms. Bornemiss received a M.Ed. in Early Intervention with a Specialization in Autism from the University of Pittsburgh and also completed the coursework to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analysis exam (which she sat in 2011). While in pursuit of her M.Ed., Ms. Bornemiss also completed her coursework for Special Education (K-12).

For the past 14 years, Ms. Bornemiss has worked directly with children & adolescents with ASD in their homes using ABA principles and techniques, implementing early intervention programming. She has also taught numerous social skills groups along the way. Ms. Bornemiss has worked in a variety of settings as a behavior therapist and behavior analyst and has experience in home programs, behavior change programs, and parent consultation.

Ms. Bornemiss enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Bornemiss is a member of the Georgia Association for Behavior Analysts, Association for Professional Behavior Analysts, North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysts, and the Association for Behavior Analysis International.
